To celebrate 35 years since the UAE's independence, the Ministry of Higher Education held a regional competition for Best Poster. The slogan they had was "Our Strength, Our Unity" and so the artwork had to be inspired by those words.
The poster we created shows the different buildings and skyscrapers that have made all seven emirates in the UAE so famous worldwide; some more than others. We put them together in no specific order to convey the idea of unity. Above them, we added a rising sun to convey the idea of a new day dawning: a new and joyful day filled with happiness and ambition as well memories of 35 years of success. It promises a future that would be even brighter and more successful than the past.
A ribbon wraps around the number '35' and leads the viewer's eyes to an outline of the UAE's geography at the bottom. The ribbons are colored using the colors of the UAE's national flag. The words "Our Unity, Our Strength" are written inside it.
The poster won First Prize and was subsequently displayed throughout the nation on National Day.
